LUTHIER WOODWORKING
The project was to create a custom thin-bodied acoustic guitar built from scratch in advanced woodworking class. Rosette and headstock inlay were original works created and CNC routed by me.
Top wood : Spruce
Back and side wood : Mahogany
Internal tone bars, plates, and braces : Softwood spruce
Rosette: Abalone with black and white rings
Bridge : Ebony
Neck wood : Mahogany
Fingerboard and headstock plate : Ebony with mother of pearl fret markers
Headstock Inlay : Abalone forming the traditional Chinese character "Fu" (福) for good fortune. It is also the first character of "Fu Kui" (福葵), my Chinese name.

Headstock Inlay: Compass star made with mother of pearl and accent mahogany. Symbolizes the many choices in life and importance of being guided by a strong moral compass.
